Database Administrator
Position Status : 12 Months Renewal Contract
Location : Seri Kembangan, Selangor
Salary : Salary commensurate with experience
Overview
This is a DBA position with requirements to ensure the customer’s databases are in good health and involve in the project setup. The DBA will have to project growth and advice customers/users on resource requirements. The job will require working at odd hours or public holidays when required.
Job Descriptions (JD)
Familiar with any 2 of the following databases (ORACLE, MYSQL, MSSQL)
Perform health checks on the databases and ensure databases are in good health status.
Perform health check on the database Replication and ensure databases at the DR site are synchronized
Perform health check on the database Backup and ensure databases backup is in place
Perform health check on the DB space usage and ensure databases have enough space to growth
To perform DB security patching on the scheduled downtime
Provide 24*7 support (including public holidays or when required)
Handling of incidents on databases
Ensure no outstanding ticket assigned to DBA team
Involved in the Disaster Recovery (DR) Swing
To perform DB backup and restore when required
Setup, configure and maintain new databases for user testing or new projects
To perform database migration
To attend audit finding on databases (DR) Swing
Prepare health check report and present to the customer as and when required
Prepare an incident report
Requirements:
Degree in Computer Science/IT, Science & Technology or equivalent
Min 2 years of database skills
Strong background in any 2 of the following databases (ORACLE, MYSQL, MSSQL) and Linux/Unix scripting, backup and recovery, performance tuning,and troubleshooting
Certification in Oracle is an added advantage
High interest in performing R&D and self-study
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure
Clear thinking, good at collaboration and communication, practical and conscientious
